You can grind whole-grain flour and knead dough in your Vitamix machine for fresh, homemade flavor in every meal.  Get creative with homemade pasta, sourdough bread, soft pretzels, and more.

Pizza

Dough Ingredients

Whole wheat 360g (1 ½ cup)
Instant dried yeast 10g (1 ¾ teaspoons)
Salt 7g (1 ¼ teaspoons)
Hot water 360ml (1 ½ cup)
Olive oil 18ml (3 ¾ teaspoons)

 Topping Ingredients

Pizza sauce 360g (1 ½ cups)
Mozzarella cheese, shredded 300g (1 ¼ cups)
Parmesan cheese 80g (⅓ cup)
Olive oil (optional) 28g (2 tablespoons)
Cherry tomato, halved 8 pcs
Baby spinach 1 pinch

 

Procedures

  1. Place whole wheat into the Vitamix dry container and put the lid on;
  2. Start the machine on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed;
  3. Run the machine for 30 seconds, stop the machine, take off the lid and scrape the container sides with spatula;
  4. Put the lid on and run the machine again for additional 30 seconds or until desired fineness and stop the machine. The whole wheat flour is ready;
  5. Add instant dried yeast and salt in the Vitamix container through the lid plug opening, and put the lid plug on;
  6. Start the machine again on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Run the machine for 5 seconds until mixed.  Stop the machine and remove the lid plug;
  7. Select Variable 6 and Pulse about 30 times in 25 seconds and slowly adding hot water and oil through the lid plug opening;
  8. Remove the lid, scrape the dough off the container sides with spatula;
  9. Put the lid on and continue Pulsing for another 30 times until a ball of dough forms. After the ball has been formed, continue Pulsing for 10-15 seconds to lift the dough off the blades;
  10. Remove the dough with floured hands and form a round ball. Place dough in a greased bowl and turn to grease on all sides of the dough.  Let the dough rise for 10 minutes;
  11. Pre-heat the oven to 220oC;
  12. Divide dough into two and stretch each into a 12-inch pizza crusts;
  13. Fit the pizza crust into the pan and punch up the collar around the edge to hold the filling;
  14. Brush the pizza crusts with olive oil, spread pizza sauce with back of spoon, sprinkle with parmesan cheese, top with tomato and baby spinach, then sprinkle evenly with mozzarella cheese.
  15. Put the pizza crusts into the pre-heated oven and bake for 15-18 minutes until bottom crust is lightly browned and cheese is bubbly;
  16. Remove pizza from oven, let stand 5 minutes to

TIPS: The longer the machine runs for grinding whole wheat, the finer the consistency of the flour. The time will take around 1 minute on highest speed.
