“HONGKONGESE” RECIPE

Try to make soya bean milk with your Vitamix machine, you will be amazed how smooth it tastes without discarding any bean dregs!

Soya Bean Milk

Ingredients (4 servings)

Soya bean 240g (1 cup)
Ginger (optional) 1 slice
Rock sugar syrup (optional) 80ml (⅓ cup)
Water 960ml (4 cups)

Procedures

  1. Wash soya beans with filtered water, soak with filtered water for 6-8 hours. Then, steam for 30 minutes or until well done;
  2. Place steamed soya bean, ginger and water into the Vitamix container and put the lid on;
  3. Start the machine on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed;
  4. Run the machine for 7 minutes;
  5. Turn the machine from highest speed to Variable 1, remove the lid plug, add rock sugar syrup and run the machine for 30 seconds.

TIPS: You can add cereal for a smoother texture. Soya bean milk is not only made for our daily drink, but you can also use it as hot pot base! You can prepare more steamed soya bean and frozen for long storage, as well as rock sugar syrup.

Procedures of making rock sugar syrup: Place 600g rock sugar and 1 liter water into a pot and boil until all rock sugar melted. Put into a glass container and store in refrigerator
